2012 Weekly Challenge: Old Fashioned

When I do count the clock that tells the time,
And see the brave day sunk in hideous night;
When I behold the violet past prime,
And sable curls all silver’d o’er with white;
When lofty trees I see barren of leaves
Which erst from heat did canopy the herd,
And summer’s green all girded up in sheaves
Borne on the bier with white and bristly beard,
Then of thy beauty do I question make,
That thou among the wastes of time must go,
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake
And die as fast as they see others grow;
And nothing ‘gainst Time’s scythe can make defence
Save breed, to brave him when he takes thee hence.

“I have seen women walk right past a TV set with a football game on and – this always amazes me – not stop to watch, even if the TV is showing replays of what we call a “good hit,” which is a tackle that causes at least one major internal organ to actually fly out of a player’s body.”

2009 Challenge 23/365 – Fill The Frame

Day 23 – “Fill the Frame”
342 days to go…

This is an official collegiate game ball – in this case, gold stamped with the University of Wisconsin “Motion W” logo. I used a single overhead lamp for lighting and shot it with my macro lens. The photo is uncropped, in order to be as true as possible to today’s “fill the frame” theme.
