“Seize
Bolts of lightning from the sky
And plant them in fields of life.

They will grow like tender sprouts of fire.
Charge somber thoughts
With unexpected flash,
You, my lightning in the soil!”

– Visar Zhiti, The Condemned Apple: Selected Poetry

Imminent

The creative act lasts but a brief moment,
a lightning instant of give-and-take,
just long enough for you to level the camera
and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

– Henri Cartier-Bresson

Bolt From the Blue

I roamed the countryside searching for answers to things I did not understand.
Why thunder lasts longer than that which causes it, and why immediately on its creation
the lightning becomes visible to the eye while thunder requires time to travel.

– Leonardo da Vinci
